GenPDF is operated by GenPDF, a sole proprietorship ("we", "us"), the party this agreement is with. You can reach us at support@genpdf.com.

"You" means the person using GenPDF. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.

GenPDF lets you edit the text of PDF documents and use tools on them: organising pages, converting, protecting and more. Most of this work runs in your web browser, on your device. A few tools need our servers, for example reading scanned pages or converting office documents; the Privacy Policy lists them and says what happens to the files they receive.

You can use GenPDF without an account, within the limits of the free plan. Some features need an account or a paid plan, as the pricing page shows.

GenPDF itself, meaning its software and code (including the code your browser downloads to run it), its design, its texts and its name, belongs to us or to those who license it to us, and is protected by copyright and other laws: © 2026 GenPDF, all rights reserved. Using GenPDF gives you the right to use the service under these terms and nothing more. Parts that are open source keep their own licences.

To create an account you must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to make purchases where you live if you buy a plan. Give an email address that is yours, and keep your password private: you are responsible for what is done with your account. One account is for one person.

Tell us at support@genpdf.com if you think someone else is using your account.

You keep every right you have in the documents you open with GenPDF. We claim none of them.

When you use a tool that runs on our servers, you allow us to process the file you send only to give you the result. We do not keep it, look at it, share it or use it for anything else, including to train software. The one exception is a signature request that you make: its document is kept, encrypted, for the signers and for you. Unless you choose to let us email the signers' links, we do not have the key; if you do, we hold it until the request ends (see the Privacy Policy).

You must have the right to open and change the documents you edit.

You agree not to use GenPDF to:

• forge or falsify documents, or change a document to deceive anyone: identity papers, certificates and diplomas, contracts, invoices, bank statements, medical or official records;
• break the law, or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright and privacy;
• harm, overload or attack the service, or get around its limits, for example by automated use, by scraping it, by sending more requests than a person could by hand, or by sharing an account;
• copy, reverse engineer, decompile or take apart GenPDF's software, including the code your browser downloads to run it, or study what goes in and comes out to recreate it, or use it to build a competing product or service, except as far as the law allows despite this restriction;
• use GenPDF, its code or what it produces to build, train or test an artificial intelligence or machine learning system that does what GenPDF does (your own documents stay yours to use as you like);
• resell or offer GenPDF as your own service without our written agreement.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we report suspected fraud where the law requires it.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Paddle adds the taxes that apply in your country and sends your receipt and invoice. We never see or store your card details.

• Subscriptions (Pro, monthly or yearly) renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in force, until you cancel.
• Cancelling is possible at any time, from your account (which opens Paddle's customer portal) or by writing to us. Your plan then stays until the end of the period already paid, and does not renew.
• The 7-day pass is a single payment. It ends by itself after 7 days and never renews.
• Price changes to a subscription are announced by email at least 30 days before they apply. You can cancel before then.

When a plan ends, your account stays on the free plan. Your documents are not affected: they were never stored by us.

Every payment can be refunded within 30 days. The Refund Policy explains how.

GenPDF works hard to keep the original font, layout and text of your document, but a PDF can be built in countless ways and no editor gets every one right. Before you sign, send, print or file a document you edited, read it through and check it says what you intend.

We improve GenPDF continually: tools and limits may change, and a feature may be withdrawn. We try to keep the service available at all times but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. If we withdraw a paid feature you rely on, you can ask for a refund of the period not used.

GenPDF is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

You can stop using GenPDF at any time, and delete your account on your account page or ask us to at support@genpdf.com. We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms; where we can, we tell you why first.

We may update these terms. We announce a significant change on this page and by email to account holders at least 14 days before it applies. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.

If you have a complaint, write to us first at support@genpdf.com: most problems are solved that way. If you use GenPDF as a consumer, you keep the protection of the law of the country where you live and may bring a claim before its courts.
