Ranges, sizes or chapters
Type the ranges you want, set the largest size an email allows, start a new file at each bookmark, or at each page where some words appear.
Save every page as its own PDF, keep the page ranges you need, or cut a long PDF into parts small enough to email. Splitting happens in your browser, so the PDF is not uploaded. Free, no account.
How it works
Choose your PDF. It opens in the editor, in your browser.
Choose how to split it: every page, ranges such as 1-3, 5-8, or by size, bookmark or text.
Download the parts as separate PDF files.
Why GenPDF
Type the ranges you want, set the largest size an email allows, start a new file at each bookmark, or at each page where some words appear.
Pages are copied as they are, with their text, fonts and pictures, and splitting by size never cuts a page in two.
The PDF is split in your browser, not uploaded, so a long document doesn't wait on a transfer.
Questions
To take one page out as its own file, use Extract pages with its number: you download a one-page PDF and your file stays as it was. To separate every page, use Split pages here and each page becomes its own PDF. To delete the page instead, use Delete pages.
Use Extract pages, type the pages you want, such as 1-3, 8, and download them as one new PDF. To get several ranges as separate files, use Split pages with page ranges.
Yes. Split by size takes the largest size you allow, say 5 MB, and makes parts under it, pages in order. A page heavier than that on its own gets a file to itself; compress the PDF first to make it fit.
Yes, with Split by text: type words that begin each document, such as Invoice No, and a new PDF starts at every page that has them. A scan needs its text made editable first.
No. Splitting happens in your browser. A scanned page is sent as an image only if you agree to have its words read, and deleted as soon as they are read.
