Convert Word to PDF

Turn a Word document (.docx or .doc) into a PDF that looks the same on every screen and printer; Excel, PowerPoint and OpenDocument files work too. This tool needs our server: the file is converted there and deleted at once, nothing is kept. Free: 3 files a day, up to 10 MB each; 30 a day, up to 25 MB, with Pro or a 7-day pass.

Why GenPDF

Word to PDF with GenPDF: what is different

Laid out by an office suite

The conversion uses LibreOffice, a full office suite, so pages, tables, headers and slides keep their layout.

Deleted at once

Each file is converted in a private folder of its own, then deleted with it. Nothing of your document stays on our server.

Macros don't run

The document is opened only to lay it out: any macros in it are not run.

Questions

Word to PDF: questions and answers

Which files can I convert?

Word (.docx, .doc), Excel (.xlsx, .xls), PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt), OpenDocument (.odt, .ods, .odp) and RTF files, up to 10 MB each on the free plan, 25 MB with Pro or a 7-day pass.

Is my document kept on your server?

No. It is converted in a private folder and deleted with it as soon as the PDF is made. Nothing is stored.

Will my fonts change?

Not when our server has them: the document is laid out with the fonts it uses, Arabic ones included, so the PDF comes very close. Where a font is not available, a similar one takes its place, and letter shapes or line lengths can change; check the PDF before you send it.

Can I convert several files at once?

One file at a time for now. Each PDF downloads as soon as it is ready, and you can choose the next file.

What about Excel and PowerPoint?

The same tool takes them, and each has its own page: Excel to PDF and PowerPoint to PDF. The other way, from a PDF to an editable document, is PDF to Word.
